KOHLER, Wis. - The MSOE Men's tennis team clashed with rival Illinois Tech in the NACC Tournament Championship on Sunday, as the Raiders went to the final match with the Scarlet Hawks, falling in a back-and-forth heartbreaker by a final score of 4-3.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Raiders would secure the doubles point to open the final bout on the NACC schedule, before Carlos Lopez delivered a 6-2, 6-4 win from the #6 singles spot to give MSOE an early 2-0 lead over Illinois Tech.
- After the Scarlet Hawks captured wins in the #4 and #1 singles slots to tie things up, Illinois Tech would make it three straight matches as they won from the #2 spot, taking a 3-2 lead. Miguel Lopez would win a critical third set in his bout, as his 6-4, 2-6, 6-3 win turned all eyes to the #5 singles spot to see who would be crowned NACC Champs.
- Augusto Eiji Yamazaki would be put on the big stage for MSOE, as the freshman fought valiantly for the Red and White through three back-and-forth sets. Yamazaki would ultimately fall 6-7, 6-4, 4-6 as the Scarlet Hawks won by a razor-thin margin, advancing to the NCAA Tournament with a 4-3 win, their second straight NACC Championship win over the Raiders.

The Raiders have wrapped up for the 2024-25 season with a 13-6 record, including an impressive 6-0 conference record through the regular season.
