AURORA, Ill. – The MSOE women's wrestling team squared off against Aurora University on Tuesday night, competing in four official bouts against the Spartans. Despite strong efforts throughout the evening, the Red and White were unable to secure a victory against the experienced Aurora squad.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Jackie Zuniga Rangell opened the night for MSOE at 110 pounds, dropping her bout by major decision, 10-0. Alyssa Bentley followed at 124 pounds and also fell via major decision, 14-1.
- Naomi Castillo-Posadas looked to earn the Raiders' first win of the evening at 138 pounds but was defeated by first-round pinfall. Arianna Vesey closed out the dual for the Red and White, taking an early 2-0 lead before ultimately falling by pinfall to conclude the matchup against Aurora.
WHO'S ON DECK
The Raiders are back in action this Sunday, January 25th, at the CCIW Championships hosted by Elmhurst University. The action is set to begin at 1:00 P.M.
