BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – The MSOE men's volleyball team dropped a three-set match to Illinois Wesleyan University Sunday afternoon, completing their weekend road trip.
RESULT
#19 MSOE – 0
Illinois Wesleyan - 3
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The serving from Illinois Wesleyan (9-3, 0-0 CCIW) allowed MSOE (4-4, 0-0 NACC) stay close early having serving errors as Bram Griever knocked in a pair of kills to have the set tied at eight. A small from the Titans put them ahead 18-13 until a 3-0 run capped by back-to-back kills from Callan Harris cut it the deficit down to two. The run was answered by the Titans once again, going back up to a five-point lead as the Titans eventually took the set 25-20.
- Harris found a rhythm early, making back-to-back kills to give the Raiders a 3-1 lead to open the second set. After the Titans tied up the set and the two began to go back-and-forth, the Raiders found a three-point lead again at 10-7. Later in the set, the Titans began to go on a run, leading 22-17, but the Raiders weren't done yet, eventually tying up the set at 25 after a kill from Harris. The Titans would eventually make the final push, getting the next two points to win 27-25.
- Seth Thomas and Matthew Schultz led the Raiders in the third set, combining for six kills as they were knotted up at ten early on. Down 14-13, the Titans went on a 7-0 run as the Raiders land the ball in play, eventually running away to take the set 25-16.
