HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Game One
    • MSOE (11-24, 8-13 NACC) and Edgewood (12-24, 5-16 NACC) were scoreless through the first four innings, with Katie Pollock holding the Eagles to just two hits across the first four frames.
    • In the top of the fifth, back-to-back one-out singles from Autumn Sadler and Rikka Ludvigson put two on for Jayda Nelson, as she doubled to right center, bringing her teammates around to score for a 2-0 MSOE lead.  An RBI single from Carlee Emery two batters later would extend the MSOE lead to 3-0 at the end of five innings.
    • Pollock would finish with a five-hit shutout for the Red and White, going all seven innings while striking out one. The Raiders added one more run on an Edgewood error in the sixth inning for a 4-0 win in game one.
  • Game Two
    • In game two, the Raiders wasted little time jumping in front of the Eagles, tallying three runs on five hits in the top of the first, with Lylah DeArmond knocking in the first two runs before an Addie Kortman single brough home the third.
    • The Eagles would get on the board in the bottom of the second, with the Raiders bouncing right back in the top of the third.  A double from Emery brought DeArmond around, before a single from Reese Konczal allowed the Raiders right fielder to cross home plate and bring the score to 5-1.
    • After the Eagles added another run in the bottom of the third, Edgewood would load the bases in the fourth, but the Raiders would escape the jam without allowing a run, as Ludvigson back picked the runner at third to end the inning.
    • After Marissa Collazo went the first 3.2 innings as the starting pitcher for the Red and White, Kaitlyn DeNapoli would take the Raiders the rest of the way, as MSOE swept Edgewood, taking game two by a final score of 6-2.  With the win, the Raiders move into playoff position for the first time this season.
