MSOE

Playing Career: Katie began playing volleyball in middle school, at age of 10. She then continued on be a three-sport athlete at Lake Park High School in Roselle, IL, for two years, before ultimately dedicating her last two years to focus on volleyball. She played club volleyball during her off-season at Team Illinois Volleyball for all four years of high school. Despite overcoming two ACL injuries and extensive rehabilitation, she continued her athletic career at the Milwaukee School of Engineering, where she earned both Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in Architectural Engineering. After redshirting her freshman year, she competed in her remaining four seasons with the MSOE Women's Volleyball (WVB) program, contributing as both a libero and setter.  

Coaching History: Following her MSOE graduation, Katie remained involved with the WVB program as a volunteer assistant coach for two seasons before accepting a part-time assistant coaching position in 2022. In her current role, she focuses on offensive strategy and player development while serving as a mentor to student-athletes through her unique perspective as an MSOE alumna. 

Personal: Katie lives in the Milwaukee area with her dog, Penny. She is an engineer with Wiss, Janney, Elstner Associates, Inc. (WJE) – a leading interdisciplinary firm specializing in structural engineering, architecture, materials science, and the investigation and rehabilitation of existing structures. In her free time, Katie still enjoys playing in adult volleyball tournaments and leagues.
