MILWAUKEE - Sophomore Kim Baffin and the doubles pairing of sophomore Cali Bonie and freshman Katie Kershaw netted points as the MSOE women's tennis team fell to Alverno 5-2 in the NACC Tournament First Round Tuesday evening at the Helfaer Center.

The Raiders (6-11) played tighter with the Inferno (12-12) after falling 9-0 in the regular season but were unable to overtake the No. 3 seed.

Bonie and Kershaw won their match at No. 3 doubles 8-1 to pull MSOE within 2-1 after the doubles competition.

In singles, Baffin played at No. 5 and was a straight-sets winner, 6-0, 6-3.

Meanwhile, Alverno scored the three points during singles play it needed to clinch the team victory. Matches at No. 2 and No. 6 were abandoned.
