MILWAUKEE – The MSOE women's soccer team closed out MSOE's 2025 homecoming celebration in style, securing a 1-0 win over the Falcons of Concordia Wisconsin in front of a packed house at Viets Field.
RESULT
Concordia Wisconsin Falcons – 0
MSOE RAIDERS – 1
HOW IT HAPPENED
- MSOE (8-4-2, 7-0-1 NACC) turned away two shots from the Falcons (5-6-4, 4-3-0 NACC) in the opening minutes, as Page Sanchez was unphased by the early CUW shots. It wouldn't take long for the Raiders to strike first, as Samantha Fleischman recorded her second goal of the season in an unassisted effort, taking advantage of an errant CUW deflection to put MSOE ahead 1-0. The Raiders saw quality shots from both Claire Bradford and Faith Papazoglou saved by the Falcon goaltender, as the Red and White held their 1-0 lead heading into the halftime festivities.
- The Raiders would come out of the break looking to increase their lead, exerting pressure on the CUW defense all half, but were unable to find the back of the net. Despite a couple of chances from both Rosario Etcheverria Abuin and Elizabeth Kuhn, the Raiders defense would be the ones who stole the show down the stretch, limiting the Falcons to just four shots in the second half. Reagan Burkemper and Kit Gormley would hold off any last gasps from the opposition, as MSOE closed out the Homecoming sweep with a hard-fought shutout win.
