Five Raiders Score Double-Digits to Defeat Warriors on the Road

MILWAUKEE – The MSOE men's basketball grabbed a road win heading into the Holiday break as five Raiders post double-digit figures to defeat Wisconsin Lutheran College.

FINAL SCORE
MSOE RAIDERS – 93

Wisconsin Lutheran - 84

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Wisconsin Lutheran (3-7, 1-3 NACC) grabbed the lead after the opening tip but was immediately taken away as MSOE (5-4, 3-1 NACC) attacked the paint early with five straight layups to lead 10-5 with 14:37 to play. The Warrior tied the game at ten with a three, but the Raiders continued to get to the rim as just a minute and a half later a layup from CJ Valente put them ahead 19-12. Chase Cummings made the lead double-digits with 6:34 to play but the Warriors brought their deficit down to four just before the under-four timeout. Joey Jendusa nailed a three-pointer at the first-half buzzer to give the Raiders a 46-35 lead at the break.
  • Mason Dopirak nailed one from behind the arch 2:49 into the second half to give the Raiders their largest lead of the game at 13, but the Warriors wouldn't go away that easily. The home squad cut the Raiders' lead back down to four with 11:15 to play, but Cummings caught fire from long range on back-to-back possessions to bring the lead back to 10 with 8:58 to play. The Warriors finally put together a successful run, grabbing a lead they haven't had since 19:18 in the first half, but was immediately taken back after Dopirak grabbed his own offensive rebound and put It back in. After Cummings put the Raiders ahead by six with 1:19 to play, they went perfect from the free-throw line to seal it.
