WHEATON, Ill. – The MSOE men's wrestling team closed out the 2025 portion of the season on Saturday evening, taking on both Millikin University and Wheaton College in duals.  The Raiders would finish the day with a split, falling to the Big Blue and besting the Thunder/

HOW IT HAPPENED

• vs. Millikin
  • The Raiders would drop the first six bouts to the Big Blue, falling behind 25-0 with just four bouts left on the card.  Toren Vandenbush would score the first MSOE win of the afternoon at 174, working his way to a 2-0 decision victory. 
  • Jackson Hughes scored the final victory for the Raiders against the Big Blue at 184, scoring a first round pinfall win in just over 90 seconds as the Red and White fell to Millikin, dropping their second dual of the season.
• vs. Wheaton
  • The Raiders started the bout off picking up two early forfeit wins at 125 and 133, before Liam Anderson kicked off a run of Raider wins with his 8-0 major decision victory.  Alex Morales followed up Anderson with a major decision win of his own, as the Red and White held a 20-0 lead after four bouts.
  • Ben Messier and Diego Snell-Martinez would each score decision wins at 157 and 165, respectively, while Vandenbush notched his second win of the day with a dominant pinfall win in just 70 seconds.
  • Hughes would join Vandenbush as the lone Raiders to score multiple wins on Saturday with his 8-2 decision win, while senior Jake Schmittscored a 14-2 major decision win to end the Raiders skid with a 39-3 blowout of the Thunder, as the Red and White turn the calendar to 2026.

The Raiders will be back in action after the New Year, heading back to the Budd Whitehill Duals, starting on Friday, January 9^th, in Williamsport, Penn.
