AURORA, Ill. – The MSOE men's wrestling team went toe-to-toe with the Spartans of Aurora University on Tuesday night, recording three pinfall victories on the way to a 27-18 road win.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Lane Andersen opened the dual battling through the first round before seizing control and earning a second-round pinfall. The freshman's win gave the Raiders an early 6-0 advantage. After Aurora trimmed the deficit with a major decision at 133, Liam Anderson responded with a second-round pinfall at 141 to extend MSOE's lead to 12-4.
• The Spartans surged back with consecutive victories at 149 and 157 to take the lead, but Diego Snell-Martinez halted the momentum with a 7-2 decision at 165, evening the score at 15-15 with four bouts remaining. Toren Vandenbush followed with an 8-4 decision at 174 to put MSOE back in front, 18-15, before Jackson Hughes added another decision win, 18-11, to widen the margin.
• With two bouts remaining, Sean Wilwert sealed the dual for the Raiders at 197, securing a pinfall victory to clinch the 27-18 win. The triumph improved MSOE's conference record to 5-2 on the season.

WHO'S ON DECK
The Raiders will compete at the CCIW Duals this Friday, January 23^rd.  The Red and White will take on both Elmhurst University and Carthage College starting at 1:00 P.M. in Elmhurst, Ill.
