SALEM, Va. –
Mason Dopirak has been named a finalist for the Jostens Trophy for his stellar performance for the MSOE men's basketball team during the 2025-26 season.
The Jostens Trophy honors - one for men's basketball and one for women's basketball - are national awards created by the Rotary Club of Salem and sponsored by Jostens, Inc., to recognize the most outstanding men's and women's Division III basketball players of the year. The awards focus on three major criteria: basketball ability, academic prowess, and service to one's surrounding communities. The Jostens Trophy models the Rotary International motto of "Service Above Self" by recognizing those who truly fit the ideal of a well-rounded Division III student-athlete. The 2026 season marks the 28th time the Jostens Trophy honors will be awarded.
Dopirak led the conference and is fourth nationally in points per game (26.1) and led the conference in free-throw percentage (90.0%) as well. 23 of 26 games Dopirak has appeared in he has scored 20+ points, along with six with 30+ and just hit a new career high 46 points on Tuesday in the NACC Quarterfinal victory over Lakeland. The Raiders finished the season with an overall record of 19-8, going 16-2 in conference play to win a share of the regular season conference title for the first time since the 2018-19 season.
Dopirak was named NACC Player of the Year, the fifth player in program history and first since Matthew Kirse in 2019. Dopirak has appeared and started in 102 games in his career and totaled 2,175 points, the third most in program history and second most in NACC history. Throughout in his career, he's earned six NACC Player of the Week honors, along with being named NABC and D3Hoops.com Second Team All-Region last season.
The finalists will now be reviewed by the Jostens Trophy National Selection Committee. The committee is composed of men and women from across the country. The committee features current and former athletic administrators and head coaches, past Jostens Trophy recipients, and select members of the Division III media. The committee will spend the next week-plus reviewing the nominees with the aim of announcing the two winners the week following both national championship events.
