Six Event Wins Leads Raiders at Ripon Final Qualifier

RIPON, Wis. – The MSOE track & field team had one final opportunity before next weekend's national championship as they totaled six event wins at the Ripon Final Qualifier.

MEN'S TEAM RECAP 
  • Camden Nennig had the top prelim time in the 60-meter dash in 7.10 before taking the final in 7.08. Sam McPeak took victory in the 3,000-meter run with a time of 8:52.43, taking the event by nearly five seconds. Daniel Geerts had the top time in the 60-meter hurdle prelim in 8.32 before Sam Sorenson took the final in 8.33 seconds. Over in the field events, William Tate won the weight throw with a toss of 15.84 meters. 
  • Nathaniel Asiedu-Mensah took second behind Nennig in the 60-meter dash, clocking a new personal best 7.18 seconds. Jack Dorner took second in the mile run in a new personal best 4:22.58. 
  • Over in the field events, Joe Juliano and Bob Sibigtroth each cleared 1.83 meters in the high jump to finish 2-3 with Juliano getting the edge off misses. Cameron O'Brien cleared 4.51 meter to take third in the pole vault while James Paulson leaped 12.59 meters to finish third in the triple jump. Over in the throws, Ethan Wrasman tossed 15.03 meters in the shot put to take second with Elijah Villa went 14.08 meters for third. Villa also added a second-place finish behind Tate in the weight throw with 15.63 meters.
WOMEN'S TEAM RECAP  
  • The women completely dominated the throws, first with Jessa Alderman tying her school record in the shot put with 14.55 meters to remain second-place nationally. Josephine Jacklin took second with 13.13 meters and Katrina Wawrzyn in third with 11.93 meters. Alderman also won the weight throw with 15.91 meters with Kylie Crum just behind her in second with 15.89 meters and Wawrzyn in third with 14.98 meters.
WHAT'S NEXT
The full list of national qualifiers will be released tomorrow, March 8th at 6:00 p.m. with the NCAA Championships set to begin on Friday, March 13th in Birmingham, Alabama.
