MILWAUKEE – Zach Brzezinski and
Jessa Alderman have earned NACC Athlete of the Week honors with their performances over the weekend, voted on by the league's athletic communications professionals.
Brzezinski, a junior left-handed pitcher from Janesville, scattered two hits and three walks while striking out eight in a complete-game effort as MSOE shut out Rockford, 6-0, to open their March 28 doubleheader.
Alderman, a senior thrower from Janesville, won the shot put at the Carroll University Open with an outdoor school-record toss of 13.99 meters (45-10 3/4). The mark currently ranks second in NCAA Division III. She also added a third-place finish in the hammer throw (44.13m; 144-9) and a seventh-place finish in the discus (30.84m; 101-2).
Brzezinski and the baseball team take the field next on Saturday, April 4
th down at Illinois Tech at 12:00 p.m. & 3:00 p.m. Alderman and the track & field team compete on Friday, April 3
rd at the Rex Foster Twilight, hosted by Wisconsin-Whitewater. Field events are set to begin at 11:00 a.m. with track events at 1:00 p.m.
