HOW IT HAPPENED
- Game One
- Mayberry got MSOE (21-6, 12-2 NACC) going early as three Raiders reached prior for him to blast one over the right field fence for a grand slam and a 4-0 lead after one. His next appearance at the plate had similar shades as with one on, he ripped another one over the fence for a two-run homer, extending the lead 6-0.
- Aurora (18-10, 11-3 NACC) got on the board in the fourth with a two run double to cut it to a four-run deficit. The Raiders made up one of those runs in the sixth as Charlie Claas hit one up the middle to score Camden Hoier, extending it to 7-2. The Spartans didn't slow their pressure as in the top of the ninth loaded up the bases for a station-to-station single before a grand slam of their own tied it at seven to force extras. In the bottom of the tenth with two men in scoring position, a shallow pop to right field from Claas was enough for Riley Kempf to streak home under the tag to win it.
- Game Two
- The Raiders held the Spartans scoreless for the first three innings before they began to pour things on, putting up a seven spot in the fourth and five in the fifth for a 12-0 lead. Three more came in during the top of the seventh as Claas put the Raiders on the board in the bottom half with an RBI double to bring around Noah Summers. The Raiders ultimately couldn't muster up any more runs to extend the game.
