MSOE RAIDERS - 5

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Game One
    • MSOE (7-23, 4-12 NACC) would trail SNC (14-18, 6-10 NACC) after the Green Knights tallied three runs in the first two frames to go up 3-1 on the Red and White, who got on the board after an RBI single from Jayda Nelson scored Rikka Ludvigson.
    • After being held scoreless for three straight innings, the Raiders would catch fire in the bottom of the fifth, batting around the order as the Red and White tagged SNC for nine runs on eight hits.  Carlee Emery would blast a two-run shot to give the Raiders a 4-3 lead, with an Autumn Sadler single upping the lead to 6-3.  Lylah DeArmond would double to left center for two more Raider runs, with a Jayda Nelson RBI single rounding out the Raiders' rally.
    • Needing just one run to end in game in the bottom of the sixth, back-to-back hit by pitches put two on for MSOE, as Reese Konczal played hero for the Raiders, dropping a single to left field and bringing a pinch running Kaitlyn DeNapoli around for the run-rule walk-off in game one.
  • Game Two
    • In game two, the Green Knights would get on the board first, tagging the Red and White for two runs in the top of the third after a couple of hits from St. Norbert and an error from MSOE.  The Raiders would immediately respond in the bottom of the inning, as Caroline Fouras recorded an RBI single to get the Red and White on the board, before the Raiders scored the tying run on a passed ball.  An RBI single from Ludvigson would give MSOE the lead, with a sacrifice fly scoring Emma Smith and an error on the Green Knights allowing DeArmond to score.
    • With the Raiders leading 5-2, Marissa Collazo would close out her first complete game win, highlighted by striking out the last batter in both the fifth and sixth innings, and turning a an impressive line drive catch into a double play.  Collazo would finish the game with four strikeouts and just one earned run as she picked up her first win of the season.
