PLATTEVILLE, Wis. – The MSOE women's volleyball team kicked off the UW-Platteville Invitational Friday, facing the host University of Wisconsin-Platteville.
Emma Schattschneider recorded her third double-double of the season as the Raiders fall in straight sets to the Pioneers.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Neck and neck to open, MSOE (5-3, 0-0 NACC) took an 8-6 after a 4-0 run that saw Schattschneider nail back-to-back kills for the Raiders first lead. Platteville (8-2, 0-0 WIAC) answered immediately with a 6-0 run to lead 12-8 at the midway point before extending it to as large as seven at 18-11. Raiders cut it down to three after a pair of errors but would eventually fall 25-20.
- The Raiders led 2-0 to begin set two after a block from Brenna Fledderman and Ashley Murphy before the Pioneers immediately answered with three straight to lead 3-2. The Raiders grabbed the lead back with the help of kills from Schattschneider, but the Pioneers would grab the lead back at 14-13 and never look back, taking the set 25-17.
- Down early in set three, the Raiders tied it up at seven and then once again after a kill from Schattschneider at eight. A 7-0 run from the Pioneers exploded themselves into the lead 17-9, extending it to as large as nine at set point. A 4-0 from the Raiders capped by an ace from Schattschneider cut it down to five, but the Pioneers snag the final point to win the match 25-19.
