HOW IT HAPPENED
  • vs. Pitt-Bradford
    • Battling early for momentum, the serving from Brooke Fledderman catapulted MSOE (2-1, 0-0 NACC) in the lead as she nailed three service aces in the middle of a 7-0 run to lead 11-3. Pitt-Bradford (0-4, 0-0 AMCC) kept the remainder of the set hovering around a seven-point battle until  Rusch went on a tear, making four kills on a 7-1 run to cap off the set 25-11.
    • The Panthers didn't shy away in set two after Raiders had a 7-0 run to lead 18-10, they went on an 8-0 run to tie it. From there, the Panthers closed on a 7-2 run to steal the set win 25-20. The Panthers kept that momentum going in set five, having an 8-5 lead before a kill from Rusch tied it at nine. Panthers grew a lead back to four until Rusch became a force defensively, making four blocks on 12-1 run to eventually win the set 25-17.
    • Rusch continued to dominate early in set four, having three early kills to put the Raiders ahead 9-3. Maddie Abel found success at the service line, knocking in a pair of aces before the Raiders eventually ran away in dominant fashion to win 25-10.
    • Rusch posted a match high 17 kills, one off of her career high, along with new high seven blocks. Ella Notheisen added eight kills, while Brenna Fledderman and Emma Schattschneider each added six. Bro. Fledderman dominated the service line, making five aces, while Abel and Bre. Fledderman each had two.
  • vs. Albion
    • Immediately going into the second match of the day, Albion (3-0, 0-0 MIAA) cruised early in the first set, attacking at a .349 percentage and rolling late to win 25-16. The Raiders fought back in set two as the block combo of Rusch and Schattschneider put them ahead 15-12 but the lead didn't hold as the Britons came back to win the set 25-21.
    • Rusch combined on two blocks early in the third set to put them in the driver's seat. A dump from Abel gave them their largest lead at 14-8 as they held it to win 25-20 to continue the match. After Albion led 7-2 to begin the fourth, the Raiders tied it 14 with a block from Rusch and Schattschneider. After a point from the Britons, a 4-0 run from the Raiders put them comfortably in the lead, winning 25-21 and forced a fifth set. Unfortunately, the comeback ended there as the Britons regrouped to run away with it, winning 15-6.
    • Schattschneider led the match with 17 kills, adding in 14 digs with four blocks. Abel had a massive day defensively, making 22 digs while having 37 assists.
