Box Score

MILWAUKEE – The MSOE women's volleyball team saw its four-match winning streak come to an end with a 3-0 loss to Lakeland Tuesday evening at the Kern Center.

The Raiders (9-11, 3-4 NACC) played tight with the Muskies (16-11, 5-2 NACC) through each set, falling 25-20, 25-20, 25-18.

In each of the first two sets, MSOE was within one late, just to see LC pull away for the win. The first set, the visitors led just 20-19 before scoring five of the final six points to claim the set. Then, it was 21-20 Lakeland late in the second set before it pulled away with the last five points.

The third set saw the Raiders facing a 13-12 deficit midway through, before the Muskies slowly pulled away as MSOE ran out of gas.

Freshman Maria Bintz led the Red and White attack with 10 kills. Sophomore Leah Hendricks added nine, while junior Ali Borelli finished with a team-best 10 digs in her return to the lineup.

Katie Freitag had 19 kills and hit .429 to lead Lakeland.

The Raiders return to action this weekend, hosting Aurora at the Kern Center Friday and Dominican Saturday.
