Box Score MADISON, Wis. – Sophomore Leah Hendricks finished with a team-high 13 kills, but it was not enough as the MSOE women's volleyball team fell at Edgewood 25-7, 14-25, 25-16, 25-15 Wednesday evening at the Todd Wehr Edgedome.
The Raiders (10-13, 4-6 NACC) rebounded from a tough first set to take set two before succumbing to the Eagles (23-6, 10-0 NACC) as they claimed a second straight regular season NACC title.
After falling in set one 25-7, MSOE limited EC to -.135 hitting to even the match at 1-1. The Raiders closed out the second set on a 13-4 run to take the frame 25-14. It was just the fifth set Edgewood has dropped in 10 conference matches this season.
Unfortunately, that was as close as they would get as the Eagles took control of the next two sets early and pulled away to take the match.
Freshman Rachel Lynde also reached double-figures in kills with 10, while four different Raiders topped 10 digs. Juniors Martha Savory, Ali LoBue and freshman Sarabeth Haworth had 15 apiece, while junior Ali Borrelli had 10 digs to go with 33 assists.
MSOE closes out the regular season Saturday at Marian. The Raiders are tied for seventh in the NACC standings and will clinch a spot in the conference tournament with a win over the Sabres.
