Box Score MILWAUKEE – Benedictine hit .309 for the match on its way to defeating the MSOE women's volleyball team in three sets 25-15, 25-18, 25-12 Friday evening at the Kern Center.
The Raiders (5-10, 0-3 NACC) struggled to get their on track the entire match, hitting just -.010 on the night.
In the opening set, the Eagles (10-10, 4-0 NACC) opened with an 8-2 run and used a 9-2 run late to take control of the set. MSOE bounced back in the second set, rebounding from a 7-3 early deficit to rattle off seven-straight points for a 10-7 lead. Unfortunately, BU responded with a 7-1 run of its own to re-take the lead and slowly pull away.
Another large run gave the Eagles the third set, as they scored nine-straight points to expand their 8-6 lead to 17-6.
Candice Cuppini led the visitors with a game-high 13 kills, while attacking .600. Molly Kovavich joined her in double-figures with 11 kills.
Freshman Sarabeth Haworth (Colorado Springs, Co. / Mesa Ridge) paced the Red and White attack with eight kills, while also tallying 11 digs. Junior Ali LoBue (Homewood, Ill. / Homewood-Flossmoor) tallied a game-high 12 digs.
The Raiders will get back on the court Saturday, hosting Concordia Chicago at 6 p.m.
