Box Score BELOIT, Wis. - Sophomore Logan Andryk (Hartland, Wis. / Marquette) had a hat trick, including two within 73 seconds, to lead the MSOE men's soccer team to a 4-1 win over Beloit College late Wednesday afternoon at the Strong Complex Soccer Field.
Andryk tallied a pair of goals, including the game-winner, in the first half and added his third after the break. He then set up senior Drew Porter (Milwaukee, Wis. / Dominican) to round out the scoring for the Raiders (2-1-2).
MSOE got on the board in just the 20th minute with Andryk finishing off an assist from sophomore Brock Shilling (New Berlin, Wis. / West). Then, senior Jake Tenut (Carol Stream, Ill. / Glenbard North) set up Andryk for the eventual game-winner just 73 seconds later for a 2-0 MSOE halftime lead.
Andryk finished his first collegiate hat trick shortly after halftime, adding an insurance goal less than seven minutes into the second half off an assist from Porter. The Red and White once again struck quickly, getting its fourth goal just over three minutes later when Andryk returned the favor and assisted on Porter's tally.
Beloit (0-2-1) pulled a goal back a short time later when Duncan Gillis scored in the 58th minute to make it 4-1. But, that would be as close as the Buccaneers would get as the Raiders closed out the victory.
MSOE played all three goalkeepers on the roster, with junior Garrett Farin (Madison, Wis. / East) getting the start and making two saves in just over 60 minutes of action. Freshman Jeffrey Clements (North Vancouver, BC / St. Thomas Aquinas) played finished the match with a pair of saves in 15:28 of action. He replaced fellow frosh Sean Stelter (Brown Deer, Wis. / Brown Deer), who made a save in just over 14 minutes of scoreless relief.
The Raiders return to action Friday, heading to Lake Forest College. The teams kick off at 4:30 p.m.
