Box Score WATERTOWN, Wis. – The MSOE women's volleyball team could not get its offense on track, hitting just .034 in a straight-set loss to Maranatha Baptist Thursday evening in Watertown.
The Raiders (3-3) had a negative attack percentage in two sets in falling to the undefeated Sabercats (9-0).
Sophomores Rachel Lynde and Sarabeth Haworth finished with seven kills apiece for MSOE. Lynde found the most success offensively, hitting .238, while Haworth added a team-best 12 digs.
Stacie Ross and Stacy Reinke scored eight kills apiece for MBU and Reinke added a team-high 16 digs.
The Raiders could not overcome 12 attack errors in the first set, hitting just -.044. They held a 20-18 lead in the frame, but committed five-straight errors to close it out. MSOE recovered some in the second set, hitting .152 with 12 kills. It was a back-and-forth stanza, but the Sabercats closed on a 4-1 run to take a 2-0 lead in the match.
MSOE attempted just 28 attacks in set three and hit just -.036 as Maranatha closed out the sweep.
The Red & White returns home to host a triangular Saturday, taking on Purdue-Calumet and Carroll at the Kern Center. The first match gets underway at 10 a.m.
