Raiders Close Out NACC Play With Loss at WLC

Box Score

WAUWATOSA, Wis. – The MSOE women's volleyball team closed out the NACC season Saturday afternoon, falling to Wisconsin Lutheran 25-23, 25-9, 25-16 at the Recreation Complex.

The Raiders (11-15, 2-9 NACC) struggled to get its offense going, hitting .000 against the Warriors (11-15, 5-6 NACC) in suffering the sweep.

Three different players tallied five kills each as nearly every Red & White player saw the floor. Freshman Heather Dukat had five kills and seven digs, while senior Leah Hendricks and junior Rachel Lynde also had five kills apiece.

Britley Grulke had a match-best 11 kills for WLC.

After a hard-fought first match, the Raiders managed to hit just -.182 in the second set against .360 for the home team in falling in a 2-0 hole for the match. Their fortunes turned a bit in the third set, as MSOE pushed its hitting percentage into the positive, but it was not enough in suffering the sweep.

Hendricks had four blocks in the match to move past 200 career blocks and into fifth place in school history with 203 for her career. She enters the final weekend of the season on the verge of 800 career kills and 100 service aces.

The Raiders will close out the season next weekend at Benedictine's Eagle Classic. The tournament kicks off on Friday.
