Box Score FOND DU LAC, Wisconsin – Junior Braden Andryk scored two goals and assisted on another in the second half to lead the MSOE men's soccer team to a 3-0 victory over Marian Wednesday evening at Smith Field.
The Raiders (5-5, 2-1 NACC) broke open a 0-0 game at halftime with back-to-back goals just 3:15 apart on the way to handing the Sabres (4-4, 2-1 NACC) their first league loss.
After a scoreless first half, Andryk netted his goals in quick succession, each off assists from junior Gregory Borsari The first came on a long diagonal cross to the far post. Andryk ran on to the ball and crushed a volleyed shot into the net.
Then, just minutes later, Borsari slipped a pass through the Marian defense, freeing Andryk in the box for his 11th goal of the season.
Sophomore Stephen Bagin added an extra insurance goal in the 81st minute, crashing the six-yard box when an Andryk shot was saved and putting the loose ball into the net.
At the other end of the field, senior Jeff Clements made three saves for his second shutout of the season.
MSOE finished with an 11-10 shot advantage, including 7-3 in shots on goal, but conceded a 7-3 edge in corner kicks.
With five points on the night, Andryk became the third player in program history to 100 career points on 43 career goals and 18 assists.
The Raiders return to the field Saturday, hosting Rockford. Kick-off is scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
