OSHKOSH, Wisconsin – The MSOE wrestling team won three matches in falling to UW-Oshkosh 36-10 Thursday night at the Kolf Sports Center.
The Raiders (1-3) and Titans (3-7) were meeting for the second time in 12 days after a 35-11 UWO win at the UD Duals on Jan. 6.
The dual started at 165 pounds, with freshmen Drew Matticks and Helton Vandenbush each scoring victories right off the bat for a quick 7-0 MSOE lead. UWO would respond with six-straight wins to clinch the match at 27-7 before junior Sam Rathburn capped the Red & White scoring with a win at 149 pounds.
At 165 pounds, Matticks scored his 16th win of the season with an 8-4 decision. Then, at 174 pounds, Vandenbush followed with a 10-2 major decision. That win was No. 21 for him, tying him for 10th in program history for wins by a freshman.
Rathburn's victory was a 13-8 decision.
The Raiders return to the mats Friday night, hosting longtime rival Lakeland at 7 p.m. at the Kern Center.
