Box Score MILWAUKEE – The fear of the "let down" game always looms over a team when they come off a big victory. This was the case for the #13 MSOE men's hockey team who defeated (RV) Lake Forest via a late third period goal on Wednesday. While all was not lost, St. Scholastica still took the Raiders to their limit and handed them their first non-winning outcome of the 2019-20 season on Friday night inside the Kern Center.
RESULTS
St. Scholastica – 1
#13 MSOE – 1
HOW IT HAPPENED
Only two goals were scored in this evenings contest, both coming after a silent first period on Teddy Bear Toss night. Matt Hanewall buried the only #13 MSOE (5-0-1, 1-0-1 NCHA) tally of the evening thanks to a nifty setup from both Jack Nickels and Kyle Herbster in the second period. That lone goal almost held up the rest of the way until St. Scholastica (0-4-1, 0-2-1 NCHA) scored at 13:53 in the third period to tie up the game. It was apparent throughout the contest that the Raiders just didn't have their "A" stuff with them this evening. Their passes were not as crisp and at times it seemed like they were back on their heels, even during periods of play at even strength. Logan Halladay was reliable as always, with the goal against him being a up close deflection during one of the Saints seven powerplays throughout the 65 minutes of action. A tie is better than a loss however, as the Raiders stay unbeaten this season and look to earn two points tomorrow afternoon.
