Raiders Dealt First Defeat Of Season

Box Score

MILWAUKEE – Even the best teams can't stay unbeaten forever. #13 MSOE hockey got behind St. Scholastica early during Saturday afternoon's contest and was never able to catch up in the Raiders first loss of the 2019-20 season.

RESULTS
St. Scholastica – 3
#13 MSOE – 1

HOW IT HAPPENED
#13 MSOE (5-1-1, 1-1-1 NCHA) hasn't played from behind much this season, so this afternoon's contest was a testing ground for a team that has started off the season extremely hot. St. Scholastica (1-4-1, 1-2-1 NCHA) scored the first goal of the game at 8:10 in the first period and they were off to the races from there. Though they only managed 16 total shots throughout the three periods, the Saints scored on three of those opportunities. They followed up the games opening goal with two more in the second to put the Raiders down 3-0 heading into the last 20 minutes of play. While the Raiders scored early on in the third period off a Will Gauthier power play goal, that would be all that the Red & White could muster is terms of offense. Logan Halladay was pulled with about three minutes left in the game to give the Raiders a man-up advantage, but MSOE couldn't take advantage. The Red & White will have time to regroup before their next game and get back on the path to victory after their first loss of the young season.
