DUBUQUE, Iowa – The MSOE grapplers placed third at the 14th annual Jim Fox Spartan Duals this past Saturday, which took place at the Stoltz Sports Center in Dubuque, Iowa. MSOE won two of their three matches on the day, an event that also featured Concordia-Moorhead, Fontbonne, and the host team of the University of Dubuque.

TOP FINISHERS
Jack Rathburn, Drew Matticks, and Helton Vandenbush all went undefeated during the event, winning each of their three battles. Rathburn won all three of his individual matches with decisions. In his first match, he defeated Andrew Suacedo of Dubuque 5-4, then went on to take down Gabe Allen of Concordia-Morehead and Fontbonne's Ryan Howerton Jr. by the scored of 10-2 and 4-0 respectively.
Drew Matticks also swept his opponents in resounding fashion. He scored a 9-2 decision over Logan Sears of Dubuque, a 5-0 victory over Ian Frenzel of Concordia Morehead, and finished the day with a fall at 2:19 against Micah Dennis of Fontbonne.
Helton Vandenbush was the third Raider that overwhelmed all comers that stepped into the circle against him. He recorded falls over Stone Durham of Dubuque and Dalton Rawlins of Fontbonne and a technical fall against Jacob Arends of Concordia Morehouse.
OTHER RAIDERS IN ACTION
Though there were several other Raiders who won via forfeit, Jimmy Cushman was the only one that scored an actual victory. He earned a 10-2 win over David Vance of Fontbonne.
