Box Score RIVER FOREST, Ill. – MSOE men's soccer entered Monday's contest with Concordia Chicago looking to close the gap on St. Norbert at the top of the standings and increase their own second place point total. Unfortunately, Concorida Chicago got in the way of those plans in the Raiders one goal loss in the Chicagoland suburbs.
RESULT
MSOE RAIDERS – 1
Concorida Chicago – 2
HOW IT HAPPENED
- MSOE (8-4-3, 6-1-2 NACC) got on the scoreboard first when Lu Shi Peng Xiong buried a Zach Thompson pass just 4:24 into the contest.
- The Red & White scored early in the first half so Concordia Chicacgo (8-4-2, 5-2-2 NACC) thought they would score late. CUC tied the game and took the lead with two goals in the last seven minutes of the period to head into the intermission up 2-1.
- Concorida Chicago was unable to find the back of the net in the second half, but unfortunately, neither could the Raiders. MSOE threw seven shots towards the goal in the last 45 minutes but came up on the short end of a 2-1 result.
