Box Score MILWAUKEE – MSOE women's volleyball knew what they needed to do. After a loss to Aurora on Friday night, the Raiders entered a must win game against Rockford to keep their playoff hopes alive. The team was up for the challenge as they took down the Regents and entered the record books in the process.
RESULT
Rockford – 1 (21-29-25-16)
MSOE RAIDERS – 3 (25-31-23-25)
HOW IT HAPPENED
- MSOE (19-10, 8-4 NACC) ran like a well-oiled machine in the first two sets, hitting .303 and .347 respectively to go up 2-0 against Rockford (4-21, 1-11 NACC)
- The Raiders looked to close things out in three, but the Regents had other plans. Rockford was the beneficiary of a questionable call during set point as their 25-23 win brought them back within one.
- The Red & White didn't allow things to get to a decisive fifth set, however. MSOE slammed home 12 kills while Rockford had eight errors as the Raiders wrapped things up with a 25-16 victory.
RAIDER REMARKS
- The Raiders have now tied the 2006 team with 19 wins. One more victory this season would give them sole possession of the best record in program history.
- The Raiders have now run their winning streak against Rockford to 10 games with their last loss to the Regents coming back in 2011.
