Raiders Split Season Opening Duals

KENOSHA, Wis. – MSOE wrestling kicked off their 2021-22 season last night when they traveled to Kenosha to participate in two duals hosted by Carthage. While their first match of the year against Millikin didn't go their way, the Raiders got the best of the Firebirds to split the evening and start their new campaign 1-1.

RESULTS
MSOE RAIDERS – 0
Millikin – 52

MSOE RAIDERS – 30
Carthage – 24

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • vs. Millikin
    • MSOE (1-1, 1-1 CCIW) didn't have much luck against the defending CCIW champions as the Raiders were swept in all ten matches.
    • One of the wins for the Big Blue was via forfeit.
  • vs. Carthage
    • The Red & White faired much better against Carthage with MSOE winning six of the ten competitions.
    • The Firebirds won one match via forfeit, but it was the Raiders who swept the results from the 165-weight class and above.
    • Caleb Brick (fall), AJ Lizak (fall), Grayson Vandenbush (fall), Jack Horihan (fall), Max Sanderfoot (7-2) and Noah Neiberle (8-2) all picked up their first wins of the year in the six point victory.

WHO'S ON DECK
The next time that the Raiders will see action will be when they host the MSOE Invitational inside Hotchkin Arena on December 4th. The first match kicks off at 9:00 am.
