Box Score MILWAUKEE – February has been kind to MSOE women's basketball. The Raiders came into tonight's game against Marian without a loss this month and it will stay that way for at least the next six days as the Red & White push aside the Sabres once again on Saturday evening.
FINAL SCORE
Marian – 49
MSOE RAIDERS – 62
HOW IT HAPPENED
The first quarter in tonight's ballgame was closer than MSOE (5-5, 4-4 NACC North) would have preferred, but the Raiders still led by five heading into the second stanza. An 8-0 run right before halftime helped put the thoughts of a Marian (2-8, 2-8 NACC North) comeback to rest as the Red & White led by nine heading into the locker rooms. The second half was much of the same. A poor shooting fourth quarter brought down their overall shooting totals and allowed the Sabres to win a frame for the first time all weekend, but MSOE still dominated in every other facet of the game. The Raiders beat the Sabres in points off turnover (20-3), points in the paint (28-12), and second chance points (11-4) to seize a lead that was as large as 18 before it was brought down ever so slightly to their winning margin of 13. The Red & White have now won five in a row and have brought both their regular season and conference record back to the .500 mark.
RAIDER REMARKS
- Emily Runey was all over the court tonight, but her biggest impact came when corralling rebounds. The freshman brought in eight boards which is a new high in her young Raiders career.
