MSOE men's tennis hit the courts for the first time in over a month this past weekend, traveling to both St. Norbert and Carthage for non-conference play. Unfortunately, there was some rust to shake off as the Raiders drop their first two matches in March.

HOW IT HAPPENED
MSOE (0-4, 0-0 NACC) found success in both doubles and singles action against St. Norbert (1-2, 0-0 MIDWEST) on Saturday afternoon. The pairing of Connor Splingaire and Alex Nakasato took down the Green Knight's team of Vandenberg and Vandermillen by the score of 8-5 while Josh Fay was the lone winner on the singles side, taking his match against SNC's Lokken 7-5, 6-2. Parker Kuhlmann almost brought home his singles battle as well but ended up losing in a third set tiebreak.
There was not much luck to be had against Carthage (2-4, 0-0 CCIW) however. The Firebirds won every match on the Sunday afternoon in straight sets. Splingaire was able to win a game in both sets of his number four battle, but most ended up losing either 6-0 or 6-1.
WHAT'S NEXT
The Raiders will be back in action this Saturday when they head to Mount Vernon, Iowa to take on Cornell College. First serve is scheduled for 11:00 am.
