Box Score MILWAUKEE – Welcome back MSOE women's volleyball. The Raiders finally opened up their season this morning against Lakeland and got to play in a live game for the first time since October 30th, 2019. It was clearly worth the wait as the Red & White took home a thrilling five set victory on Sunday morning.
RESULT
Lakeland – 2 (15, 21, 25, 25, 11)
MSOE RAIDERS – 3 (25, 25, 19, 17, 15)
HOW IT HAPPENED
MSOE (1-0, 0-0 NACC) cruised in the first set behind 12 kills compared to just four errors and slammed home 14 more in the second frame to go up 2-0 against Lakeland (0-3, 0-2 NACC). The Muskies still had some fight in them, however. The Fish turned the tables on the Raiders in the third and fourth to even up the ballgame. The Red & White did not play poorly in those sets but saw their kill totals diminish and only hit .093 and .192, respectively. The game came down to the fifth and final set where MSOE jumped out to a big 7-2 lead. Lakeland came back once again though and tied things up at 10-10. Emma Braun turned things around with a big kill in the next rally and the Raiders would go on to win all but one point the rest of the way to take home their first victory of the new season.
