HOW IT HAPPENED
No. 13 MSOE (23-2, 10-1 NACC North) was in complete control against Lakeland (6-17-1, 5-7 NACC North) this afternoon, both on the offensive and defensive side of the ball. The Raiders spread out nine singles in game one and were able to plate six runs thanks to that effort. Jenna Trewyn led Red & White with three hits and three RBI's while Morgan Long drove in two. Lorrin Pondo was once again Lorrin Pondo on the mound, throwing seven innings of shutout softball to make it an even dozen wins so far this season as MSOE was victorious 6-0.
After seeing Pondo give up only five hits in game one, teammate Emily Wiederholt decided to give up just four in the second contest against the Muskies. Wiederholt went five innings and struck out three without giving up a run. Seven different Red & White players registered an RBI in the scorebook with Jenna Trewyn and Jocelyn Clodi leading the way with two each. Caitlyn Spreitzer and Delaney Martino paced MSOE with three hits as the Raiders roll 10-0 to complete the four game sweep.
