AURORA, Ill. – MSOE wrestling continued their three meet in seven day stretch this evening when they traveled to Illinois to take on Aurora for the two teams first ever dual against each other. The Raiders middle weight classes did all the heavy lifting and allowed the Red & White to head back to Milwaukee with a 24-20 victory on Thursday night.
RESULT
MSOE RAIDERS – 24
Aurora – 20
HOW IT HAPPENED
- MSOE (4-6, 1-2 CCIW) came into the dual coming off a solid performance at the Al Hanke Invitational from this past Saturday and used that momentum to get past an Aurora (2-2) program that is in its inaugural season.
- The meet started with a double forfeit at the 125-weight class before the Spartans struck first with a major decision at 133.
- Down 4-0, the Raiders proceeded to win the next four bouts, including victories from Michael Smith (141-Fall), Max Sanderfoot (157-Fall), and Caleb Brick (165-Fall).
- The Red & White didn't have much luck in the higher classes but had built up enough of a lead to take home their fourth dual win of the season by four points.
WHO'S ON DECK
