Box Score MILWAUKEE – MSOE men's hockey was back on the ice inside the Kern Center and looking for a palate cleanser after last nights tough loss to begin the season. While there wasn't a lot of offense to go around, the Raiders provided just enough to let their defense do the rest in a 1-0 win over St. Scholastica on Saturday afternoon.
FINAL SCORE
St. Scholastica – 0
MSOE RAIDERS – 1
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Just like they did last night, MSOE (1-1) got on the board first in the opening period. Kevin Paganini buried the first Raiders goal past the St. Scholastica (1-1) goalie at 14:33 with assists going to both Ryan Reid and Carson Jones.
- That slim 1-0 lead would have to hold up as the Raiders couldn't find the back of the net for the rest of the contest. This wasn't a problem though as Austin Schwab stopped all 26 shots that came his way in the freshman's first ever collegiate start.
- The Raiders defense was able to force the Saints to go 0-4 on the power play and the Red & White won more than half of the faceoffs as MSOE registers their first win of the 2022-23 season.
RAIDER REMARKS
- The win for the Raiders was their first against St. Scholastica since the two teams shared the same conference back during the 2018-19 campaign.
