MSOE women's volleyball hit the road for the first time in October and were looking to get back into the win column with matches against Benedictine and Alverno. While the Raiders just ran out of gas against the Eagles on Friday night, they had no problem dousing the Inferno on Saturday morning.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• vs. Benedictine
  • MSOE (3-13, 1-6 NACC) gave Benedictine (8-7, 3-2 NACC) a run for their money in the start of their two-game road swing. The Raiders took the first set 25-18 behind an attack percentage of .364 and almost went up 2-0 but fell short of that goal in a 26-24 second frame loss.
  • Unfortunately, the final two sets of the night weren't so kind to the Raiders. They averaged a hitting percentage of about .060 and fell to the Eagles 3-1 thanks to 25-17 and 25-18 losses to close out the match.
  • Emily Stratton led the Raiders with 15 kills while Amanda Yackley had a game high 40 assists and five different Red & White student-athletes registered at least 11 digs.
• vs. Alverno
  • The Raiders rebounded nicely against the Inferno as they took on their rivals across town on Saturday morning.
  • MSOE hit a stellar .409 as a team compared to .215 for Alverno (3-13, 0-7 NACC) and won all three sets without much trouble. The final two frames were the most impressive with duplicate wins of 25-16 scores.
  • Stratton continued her strong play with 13 kills and Ana Knutson served up five aces in the Red & White's 3-0 win.

WHO'S ON DECK
The Raiders will close out their 2022 home slate with three straight matches inside the Kern Center starting with this Friday's contest against Concordia Chicago. First serve is scheduled for 7:00 pm.
