MILWAUKEE – MSOE men's wrestling hosted their first dual of the young season and welcomed CCIW foe Carthage to the Kern Center. It looked like it would be the Firebirds walking away with their first win of the new campaign but the Raiders stormed back to earn their first conference victory in thrilling fashion.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- It looked like MSOE (1-1, 1-1 CCIW) was in trouble early when they allowed Carthage (0-6, 0-6 CCIW) to take home the first three matches of the night due to forfeits which instantly put the Firebirds up 18-0.
- There was no quit in the Raiders, however. The Red & White went on to win five out of the next six bouts to set up a winner take all match at 285. It was a close battle that came down to the last two minutes of action, but sophomore Noah Nieberle was able to come away with the 3-2 decision to give the Raiders a two point victory overall.
- Max Sanderfoot, Joseph Estrada, Harry Nemcek, Caleb Brick, and Jake Schmitt all came away with individual wins as MSOE takes home their first victory of the 2022-23 season.
WHO'S ON DECK
The Raiders will head to the Prairie Wolf Duals next to close out the 2022 portion of their schedule. They'll begin the one day event in Lincoln, Neb. on Saturday, December 17th starting at 10:00 am.
