HOW IT HAPPENED

  • vs. No. 3 Calvin
    • MSOE (1-2) faced a big test in their first match of the 2022 season when they went up against Calvin, the third best team in the nation according to the AVCA preseason poll.
    • The Knights fired on all cylinders in their 3-0 victory over the Red & White while the Raiders couldn't get off the ground with a -.059 hitting percentage and 24 errors.
    • Emma Braun started off the year with a team leading five kills and Ana Knutson notched two service aces.
  • vs. Concordia Wisconsin
    • The Raiders took on familiar foe Concordia Wisconsin in their second game of the invitational and first match on Saturday morning. The match was a non-NACC contest.
    • The Red & White weren't able to find an answer for the Falcons offensive attack. CUW hit .323 as a team and registered 45 kills compared to just 22 for MSOE in the straight sets loss.
    • Braun led the Raiders with seven kills while Amanda Yackley had 15 assists and Katie Taticek recorded 13 digs.
  • vs. Wheaton (Ill.)
    • The Red & White closed out the weekend with a match against Wheaton (Ill.), a team they beat 3-1 late last year.
    • The Raiders jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead but unfortunately, they couldn't seal the deal. The Thunder rattled off two straight 25-20 victories before ending the match with a 15-8 fifth set win.
    • The Red & White hit .136 as a team. Abby Balkema had a team weekend high 12 kills and Yackley finished with 37 assists and two aces.

WHO'S ON DECK
The Raiders will have two more matches when they are back in action at the Carthage Tri-Match on Friday, September 9th. They'll take on the host institution at 1:00 pm before facing off against UW-River Falls at 3:00 pm in Kenosha.
