HOW IT HAPPENED
- vs. Nebraska Wesleyan
- MSOE (2-9, 0-2 NACC) saw their first action at their host tournament in the late game on Friday night when they took on Nebraska Wesleyan.
- The Raiders had a chance to win the first set of the evening, but NWU scored the last five points to win in extras. The Red & White didn't have much luck in set two, and while they hung with the Prairie Wolves in the final frame, another big run by the visitors sealed MSOE's fate in straight sets.
- Emily Stratton led the Raiders with nine kills and Katie Taticek had 17 digs.
- vs. UW-Platteville
- The Red & White would not play again until the final two matches of the invitational starting with UW-Platteville on Saturday.
- Set one saw the Pioneers put away the first match 25-15 behind a late 6-0 run while the Raiders led 19-11 in set two but were on the wrong side of 14 of the last 17 points in a 25-23 loss. MSOE would jump out to another lead again in the third, but UWP was too much to overcome in a 25-17 defeat.
- Emma Braun paced the Red & White with 11 kills and Amanda Yackley had 21 assists.
- vs. Mount Mary
- It looked like MSOE might get swept at their home tournament but thankfully they were able to turn things around against Mount Mary.
- The Blue Angels were set one victors, but the Raiders would capture the next three to grab the victory. The team hit .213 overall and had 20 more kills (53-33) than their opponents from across town.
- Both Ava Larson and Julianna Getka had 12 kills with Larson owning a total of five combined blocks.
