HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Game One
    • Nolan Vincent held things down on the mount for MSOE (12-6, 4-4 NACC) as he pitched all nine innings for the Raiders. He proved shutout innings for the first three before two runs over the next two innings as Benedictine (15-7, 6-2 NACC) took a 2-0 lead heading all the way into the ninth inning.
    • The Raiders' offensive came to life when it was needed most working to bases load in the top of the ninth. John Kalitowski knocked in the first run with a single into center field, setting up Chris Barnes to bring in the tying run hitting into a fielder's choice. Kyle Labedz showcased his big play strength hitting a deep ball into left field to bring Charlie Gannon in to score to take the 3-2 lead. Vincent got the side out in the bottom of the ninth to take game one.
  • Game Two
    • The offense on both sides came alive in game two as the Raiders stole a run to begin the first inning on wild pitch. The Eagles showcased their power with a three-run home run in the bottom of the second inning, but a two-run shot from Sam Meidenbauer in the third inning tied the game at three. Later in the inning, AJ Le gave the Raiders the lead with a sacrifice fly to left making the game 4-3.
    • The Eagles went on a scoring spree with six runs over the next three innings to take a 9-4 lead. Kalitowski and Barnes added three RBIs in the sixth to break up the scoring, but the Eagles rallied for three more runs to make the game 12-7. The Raiders hoped for more ninth inning heroics adding three more runs, but their deficit proved to be too big, falling in game two 12-10.
