HOW IT HAPPENED
- Game One
- The savvy baserunning from Chris Barnes got MSOE (26-13, 16-8 NACC) on the board first as inadvertent throw down to first on a walk led to him stealing home for the first run of the ball game. Another run from the Raiders came two innings later as Blake Hall started off the third with a walk eventually coming all the way to third on a double down the line from Micah Overley. A deep fly ball to center field from Collin Truitt was deep enough for a sacrifice fly to bring in Hall to make the game 2-0.
- The only scoring frame from Concordia-Chicago (20-21, 12-12 NACC) came in the top of the fourth as the Cougars took a 3-2 lead on a sacrifice fly and back-to-back doubles. The Raiders saw no issues with their run deficit in the bottom of the frame, a groundout from Hall brought Nolan Wojciechowski in to score to tie the game at three. The miscues from the Cougars rose quickly as a pickoff later in the inning was overthrown, leading to Barnes coming in to score, as well as an overthrow on a steal brought Truitt into score making the game 5-3. Tyler Gronert, who got the start for the Raiders, locked in to shut the Cougars out the rest of the way to give them the victory.
- Game Two
- Benedictine (29-12, 18-6 NACC) struck early with a 3-0 lead heading into the fourth inning as the Raiders immediately with a five-run inning, capped off by a two RBI single from Overley. The Eagles saw no issue as they had a five-run inning of their own to make the game 9-5.
- The Raiders tried their best to spark a run with a home run from Sam Meidenbauer in the top of the fifth but couldn't find any momentum the rest of the way. The Raiders scored one more run the rest of the way as the Eagles scored eight, including a six-run seventh inning to end the game early 17-7.
