MSOE RAIDERS – 5
Marian - 3
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Despite MSOE (4-2-4, 3-1-0 NACC) firing off shots early, it was the home squad that struck first in the 20th minute to give Marian (1-7-3, 0-4-1 NACC) the 1-0 lead. Minutes later, the Raiders played quickly off a free kick that allowed Austin Killen to find Adrian Manchado off to the right for his first goal of the season to tie things at one. Two more shots from Killen and Steven Thomas just came close to going past the Sabres' keeper, but they headed into the half down 2-1 after they added another goal in the 33rd minute.
- The Raiders kept attacking the Sabres to knot things up and did so in the 50th minute as Michael Rohrman drove down the right side and fed Tanner Cellio. Just minutes later, Nico Picha took a corner kick opportunity right to Useni to give the Raiders a 3-2 lead. Under 15 minutes to play, the Sabres tied things up, looking to steal a draw with the Raiders, but they had no plans of settling for that. Fighting a scrum in the box on a corner, Useni just snuck one through the keeper to take the 4-3 lead for the Raiders. Owen Gendrich helped cap off the victory under two minutes to play from Rohrman to seal it with the final goal.
