DAVENPORT, Fla. – The MSOE baseball team kicked off their time in the sunshine state Monday afternoon, falling in heartbreak to Fitchburg State University.
RESULTS
MSOE RAIDERS – 2
Fitchburg St. - 3
HOW IT HAPPENED
- After two scoreless innings, MSOE (1-3, 0-0 NACC) put the pressure on loading up the bases for Blake Hall to step in. Fitchburg State (4-4, 0-0 MASCAC) hoped to turn a double-play to end the inning and get out of the jam, but Hall ran it out to bring in Kyle Labedz for the first run of the game.
- The Raiders added to their lead in the fifth as Brandon Beauchamp brought Christian Bosque into score, but the Eagles didn't go away as they tied it up in the bottom half of the inning. Just as it seemed the game would head into extra innings, the Eagles sealed things with a single into left-center to win 3-2.
