MSOE RAIDERS – 7
Marian - 4
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Game One
- Marian (7-7, 1-3 NACC) struck early on the home team with a run to open the game but was answered in the bottom half as a deep fly ball in foul territory from Micah Overley brought Sam Meidenbauer in to tie it at one. The Sabres added two more runs in the next inning to make it 3-1 two and half innings through.
- Chris Barnes shortened the MSOE (8-5, 2-0 NACC) deficit in the bottom of the third to make it 3-2 before they began to pour it on. Next inning, Blake Hall stepped in with bases loaded a delivered down the left field line to clear it as the Raiders took an 8-3 lead by the end of the fourth. Collin Truitt and Kyle Labedz added insurance runs the rest of the way as the Raiders took game one 11-3.
- Game Two
- The Sabres started game two the same way as game one with a run on the top of first innings for a 1-0 lead. The Raiders put themselves on the scoreboard in the second inning when Christian Bosque stepped in a delivered one into right field to bring Overley in. Jack Kalitowski added an RBI of his own singling into to centerfield before a wild pitch brought Bosque in for a 3-1 lead after two.
- The Raiders held a 5-2 lead two-thirds through with hopes of cruising away like game one, but a blasting two-run homerun from the Sabres cut their deficit to one. The Raiders weren't phased one bit with RBIs from Overley and Brandon Beauchamp as they completed the sweep 7-4.
