NCC Cardinals - 12
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Raiders (5-5, 1-1 NACC) led the Cardinals (8-1) after a low scoring first quarter, as Brooks McInerney scored the first MSOE goal unassisted at the 9:41 mark to tie things up, before Andrew Toman broke the stalemate off a feed from Ethan Marasco to give the Raiders a 2-1 lead.
- North Central would score six unanswered goals in the second quarter to take a 7-2 lead into the halftime break. The Cardinals would outshoot the Raiders 32-14 in the first half, while the Raiders committed 11 turnovers, including seven in a sloppy second quarter.
- The Raiders would trail 10-2 in the third quarter, before Soren Savard added two goals nearly a minute apart to bring the Raider deficit to six at 10-4. The Cardinals neutral zone defense frustrated the Raiders and disrupted any offense rhythm generated, as North Central would go on to add two goals in the fourth quarter, besting the Raiders 12-4 on Viets Field.
