MSOE RAIDERS – 3
Edgewood Eagles – 7

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Game One
    • The Raiders (9-11, 4-2 NACC) jumped out in front of the Eagles (12-10, 3-3 NACC) in the top of the second inning after a single from Alyssa Jacobson scored Jocelyn Clodi and Carlee Emery.  The Raiders expanded their lead in the third inning with two outs, as Jayda Nelson drew a walk, followed up by a single from Jenna O'Donnell to bring up Emery.  The freshman delivered a double to left center, scoring both of her teammates, and giving the Raiders a 4-0 lead.
    • The Raiders led 6-2 heading into the top of the sixth, as the Raiders bats got hot and added five runs, turning the heat up on the Eagles.  Nelson and Emery each added two more RBI to their stat line, off back-to-back one-out singles.  Despite giving up a solo shot in the bottom of the sixth, Katie Pollock was money on the mound down the stretch, posting four strikeouts and one walk in a complete game, as the Raiders claimed the victory in six innings, 11-3.
  • Game Two
    • The Eagles took the early lead on the Raiders, recording two runs on three hits in the first inning.  The Raiders were scoreless through three innings before breaking through in the fourth, thanks to a solo homerun from Sadie Gaberell
    • Gaberell would knock in a game-tying run in the fifth inning, singling with the bases loaded to bring Faith Matta home.  MSOE would take the lead on the next at bat, as Emery singled up the middle once more, giving the Raiders a 3-2 advantage.  The Eagles would answer in the bottom of the inning, bringing home four runs on six hits before adding another insurance run in the sixth.  The Raiders would go 1-2-3 in the top of the seventh, falling 7-3 and settling for a split.
