HOW IT HAPPENED
- vs. Beloit
- After trading points to begin, MSOE (6-9, 0-1 NACC) took the first healthy lead after an Emma Schattschneider kill sparked a 4-0 run to take a 11-7 lead. Two more kills from Schattschneider and a kill from Ava Larson put the Raiders ahead 21-16 later in the set and despite Beloit (1-8, 0-0 MWC) putting a charge on late, Larson ended their hopes with a kill to take the set 25-23.
- The Raiders began to roll from there, opening the second set on a 5-0 run started by a kill from Hannah Gilbert. Schattschneider continued to go on a tear in the second set, accumulating five kills across nine points to give them a 17-5 lead. The lead continued to grow as they easily took the second set 25-9.
- The Red & White continued to dominate as one of two service aces from Brooke Fledderman kicked off the third set, en route to them taking a 12-4 lead. While the Buccaneers put up a better fight to not allow the lead to grow any further, the Raiders easily cruised to a 25-13 victory to sweep, capped by a service ace from Olivia Bartels.
- vs. Ripon
- Ripon (7-7, 0-0 MWC) errors early on gave the Raiders an early 13-6 lead midway through. Gilbert added two kills to lead the charge in the set as the Raiders came away with the 25-16 set one win. After the Red Hawks clipped off the first three points in second set, the Raiders took the next five thanks to the help of two service aces from Schattschneider. A few points later after the Red Hawks took a 8-7 lead, Ana Knutson put down a kill to start a 5-0 run before later in the set the Raiders went on a 8-0 run filled with Red Hawk mistake to take the second set 25-21.
- The Red Hawks came out in the third set with a new spark after taking the lead from the start. After the Raiders took a 12-11 lead, the Red Hawks emerged on a 11-0 run to force a fourth set, winning 25-20. The Raiders immediately set the tone in the fourth set to the likes of the first two, starting on a 7-0 run, capped by an ace from Schattschneider. After the Red Hawks slowly worked back into the set, a 6-0 run that included two aces from Annabella Visak, put the Raiders ahead 15-7.
