NAPERVILLE, Ill. – The MSOE women's track & field team kicked off their 2025 indoor season at the Cardinal Opener, hosted by North Central College. The throwing events shined for the Raiders, leading them to a third overall finish.

- Katrina Wawrzyn led the group in the shot put, with her first toss of 12.92 meters being the one that won the event and is currently 10th nationally, followed by Josephine Jacklin in second tossing 12.67 meters that is 21stnationally, and Jessa Alderman in third throwing 12.46 meters and is 26th nationally. Kylie Crum won the weight throw with a mark of 15.77 meters that is 16th nationally, followed by Alderman in second with 15.52 meters which is 17th nationally, followed by Wawrzyn tossing 15.40 meters for third and 22nd nationally.
- Jacklin's mark of 15.26 meters in the weight throw currently sits 30th nationally, while Jordan Monroe has two marks ranked nationally, the shot put sitting 38th (12.26 meters) and the weight throw sitting 36th (15.09 meters).
- Ella Kwaterski and Holly Bley finished nearly side-by-side in the 5,000-meter run in 21:09.40 and 21:09.60, respectively. The group of Megan Ruffing, Maddie Griffith, Kaitlyn Denapoli, and Alexis Dorner finished third overall in the 4x400-meter relay, running a time of 4:49.52.
WHAT'S NEXT
The Raiders will have next weekend off before heading to Whitewater for the Karl Schlender Invitational. The meet is set to start at 11:00 AM with the field events and 12:00 PM for the running events.
